National Debt to the Penny and Who Holds It

This governmental website from the U.S. Treasury (TreasuryDirect) displays the national debt to the penny. There’s also a historical search application where you can enter a single date or range of dates by day, month, or year. As of December 11, 2008, the total public debt outstanding is $10,597,885,059,458.78.
